Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly common on Serbian roads, and with that comes a growing need for a well-developed and reliable charging infrastructure. Although the network of EV chargers in Serbia is still in a development phase, significant progress has been made over the past few years. In this article, we provide an overview of the most important charging locations across Serbia, with a focus on availability and charging types.
The charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Serbia is continuously expanding and includes various types of locations to make charging convenient during both everyday driving and long-distance travel. Chargers can be found along highways, in major cities, business zones, hotels, and shopping centers.
Charging stations have been installed at strategic transit points along major highways, including toll stations such as:
- Preševo
- Šid
- Dimitrovgrad
- Subotica
In addition, a charging station is located at the “Boljkovci” rest area, near the Ljig toll station. These stations are equipped with three connectors — two for fast DC charging and one for fast AC charging. The maximum output power is up to 50 kW for DC charging and up to 22 kW for AC charging, allowing relatively quick battery top-ups during travel.
At the “Belgrade” and “Niš” toll stations, ultra-fast chargers with a power output of 175 kW have been installed, designed for drivers who require minimal stopping time and maximum charging efficiency on long-distance routes.
